Marcy Block is a Senior Director in Fitch Ratings Sustainable Finance group. Marcy joined Fitch in 2011 and is based in New York City. She serves as the analytical liaison between Sustainable Finance and the U.S. Public Finance, International Public Finance and Global Infrastructure groups. Prior to joining Sustainable Finance in 2020, Marcy was responsible for the ratings of a portfolio of U.S. states and Canadian provincial issuers for the Public Finance groups.

Marcy was previously a vice president at Capital Markets Advisors, a municipal financial advisory firm in New York State. Prior to joining CMA, she was a senior vice president at Moody’s Investors Service and managed both the southeast and northeast regional ratings groups. Marcy began her career at the New York State Assembly Ways and Means and State Redistricting Committees.

Marcy earned a master’s degree in public administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. She also has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Rutgers University. She is a member of the Municipal Analysts Group of New York, the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, Women in Public Finance, Northeast Women in Public Finance and the Women’s Energy Network.
