John is primarily responsible for the day-to-day preparations for Circle’s public listing. John also has responsibility for Circle’s capital markets activities, which included Circle’s $401 million Series F financing that closed earlier in 2022.

John joined Circle in 2021 after over three decades on Wall Street. He started at Morgan Stanley and spent ten years in Corporate Treasury while based in London, Tokyo and New York. John then became Head of Investor Relations for Morgan Stanley and subsequently had the same role at Goldman Sachs, Citadel, Citigroup and Deutsche Bank.

He has extensive experience in mergers, IPOs, secondaries, recapitalizations, restructuring and was involved in many high-profile transactions including:

-Morgan Stanley and Dean Witter’s $10 billion merger in 1997
-Goldman Sachs’ $3.7 billion IPO in 1999 and $4.6 billion secondary in 2000
-Goldman Sachs’ $5.8 billion acquisition of Spear Leads & Kellogg in 2000
-Citigroup’s $79 billion recapitalization in 2009 to exit TARP and its concurrent strategic restructuring
-Deutsche Bank’s EUR 16.4 billion in aggregate capital raises via rights offerings and a private placement in 2014 and 2017
