Dr. Jeremiah Schwarz has served as Chief of Staff and now serves as Senior Advisor and General Counsel to Miami Mayor Francis X. Suarez, where he has overseen the design, development, and execution of the Miami Forever agenda and the creation of Venture Miami, which leverages free-market incentives to drive economic growth, expand climate-adaptive infrastructure projects, build a talent-education pipeline, and grow high-tech industries. Inspired by Tom Brokaw’s book, The Greatest Generation, Jeremiah joined the United States Navy where he was assigned to Jacksonville, Florida and now serves as a Leadership Florida lifetime member. During his active-duty service, Jeremiah was deployed to the Persian Gulf and the Horn of Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He received his BA from Fordham University, where he was a Truman Scholar; a PhD from Cambridge University, where he was a Gates Cambridge Scholar; and a JD from Harvard Law School, where he was a Yellow Ribbon Scholar and a Law Clerk to former Florida Governor Rick Scott. As a disabled veteran, he is committed to ensuring our veterans receive the maximum range of transition services to succeed. He has served as chairman of the Veteran Legal Services program of the United Way of Miami-Dade, and continues to advocate for disabled veterans and their families across the State of Florida.​
